AFFORDABLE, CLEAR WATER TO COMPLY WITH DRINKING WATER REGULATIONS

Deironing and demanganisation! Why?
In the drinking water sector, the limit values for iron and manganese specified in the Drinking Water Ordinance must be complied with. In the commercial sector, deironing/demanganisation is carried out for technological reasons, to prevent deposits (mainly in connection with hardness minerals) and for corrosion protection.

The systems from SHP Wassertechnik GmbH have a capacity of: 1 m³/h to 50 m³/h, pH value increase if necessary. Potassium permanganate dosing depending on the selected process.

How do these systems work?
The raw water contaminated with iron and manganese flows through the filter material. This filter material acts as a catalyst in the conversion of soluble iron and manganese salts into insoluble iron and manganese oxides or hydroxides. These substances can be easily filtered out and discharged when the system is backwashed.

Note
Depending on the pH value and iron and manganese content of the raw water, some filter materials require the additional dosing of a potassium permanganate solution or sodium hypochlorite solution and an increase in pH value.
